10.30 - 12pm: Panel: How to sustain a long-term career in writing
Sam Missingham will be chairing a discussion with editorial director at HarperCollins Phoebe Morgan, editor of The Bookseller Philip Jones and another panelist to be announced. Subjects covered will include how to overcome the challenges faced by published authors nowadays, essential tips on marketing and promotion, alternative income streams, developing resilience as an author, trends to look out for, the advantages of a hybrid career and lots more. It will be a frank discussion with the chance to ask questions (anonymously in advance if you wish).
12 - 2pm: Buffet lunch and agent one-to-ones
This'll be your chance to grab some food and have a natter. If you have a deadline, you're welcome to use this time instead to write in the many quiet corners of the venue (we have the whole floor!). Those of you looking for an agent will also be given the chance to book a one-to-one with literary agent Caroline Hardman in a comfy side-room. This will be included in the day price. You can request a slot after booking your day ticket. Please note, spaces will be limited but there is a chance another agent may also come on board to offer one-to-ones if so. If another agent does get involved, you will be given the chance to select a session with them closer to the time.
2pm to 4pm: Workshops
There will be two hands-on workshops taking place in the afternoon. You will get the chance to let us know which workshop you want to be on after booking your ticket. There will be limited slots for each workshop but ALL ticket holders are guaranteed a place on a workshop. More on each workshop below...
